Finca Las Cascadas: For Sale

For Nature Lovers:

"I've discovered living in my own house that the quality of my life has improved. I'm surrounded in my home by beautiful forms, lots of daylight, natural materials, and the things that I love. Our house fits us perfectly and is unabashedly comfortable. My house feeds my spirit." -- Sarah Susanka, Architect and Author

We have lived on Finca las Cascadas (Waterfall Farm) for nearly seven years. We designed and built it with inspiration from Susanka's books and have shared the same experience as she. Our house sits on a small, beautiful coffee farm, which has provided an avocation for us and some work for our neighbors. We are looking for the buyer who appreciates the beauty of nature that abounds here. The tranquility of our retreat has inspired Janet's yoga practice and Mike's writing. It is a sanctuary from the busyness of the Central Valley but convenient to health care and shopping. We have especially enjoyed easy access to the National Symphony, the Met Live!, and to the Pacific beaches.

"This has been the most beautiful day. Early clouds and light rain gave way to sun with a light northwesterly breeze. Morning coffee on the back porch witnessed a flock of parakeets, a pair of toucans, a flock of five chacalacas and another of four oropendulos. Beautiful. Low 68/high 82." ---Mike's Diary, January 2, 2011
